REPRESENT

These textile installations are made in situ. They are each made with 20 meters  of satin fabric from previous fashion collections conceived by the artist. The elaborate drapery and minute attention to detail exist in beauty, but are stripped of any function. What remains is a platform  for presentation, an object of pure decoration.

Stage-like forms can be discerned.  They lead the eye of the viewer to the empty place above.  What would have been presented, never will be. The value of the object is reduced to the cost of the material and the time put into the handling of the material. Form devoid of function. The historical and societal decorative role of the female surfaces again.
